Dear Parents and Friends of Marymount:

CeCe and I are honored to serve as Co-Chairs of the 2011-2012 Annual Fund for Marymount School.  We solicit your generosity in marking a new era in development at Marymount by driving the Annual Fund to a new level upon which dreams are built.  Indeed, our new Head of School, Andrew Wooden, and the entire academic staff have dreams and hopes for Marymount that can only be achieved with greater financial support from our community. 

The dollars raised through the Annual Fund represent a significant share of Marymount’s gross revenues.  They are devoted entirely to funding the school’s annual operating budget.  In common with private schools at all educational levels, the total tuition dollars received by the school each year is less than our budgeted expenses for essential activities.  While the school could always raise tuition to meet its budget, it would eventually price itself out of the competitive market in Santa Barbara and would become inaccessible to many current and prospective families.  A tax deductible contribution to the Annual Fund will help sustain the great mission pursued by the educators at Marymount.

Certainly some members of the Marymount community are financially able to make greater contributions to the Annual Fund than others, and we hope that they draw upon their charitable predisposition to do so.  But by all means we should be able to reach 100% participation throughout the entire parent base, if only to show our appreciation to those who are able to shoulder more of the burden.  We encourage you to place the Annual Fund near the top of your charitable giving plans for the year.  A contribution to Marymount, whether large or small, provides an indivisible, lasting benefit to all of our children and promotes the ideals we have all come to share.
